The Washington Harbour (8/6/2016)

Saturday, August 6, 2016
We drove straight through to take the grandsons, Dylan and Pete, home to their mom's. After goodbyes, we drove into Washington, DC to The Washington Harbour, a multi-use complex built in 1981-1986, designed by Arthur Cotton Moore, in post-modern style, which replaced a cement plant. After several years of management and flood problems, it has gone through a renaissance since 2013.

We were here to have a meal at the restaurant Erich manages, Farmers Fishers Bakers.

They make their own sodas, and I had the grapefruit flavor. We shared a Shrimp Scampi with huge shrimp, spinach, and "gnocchi" that were more like dumplings, and a Seafood Jamabalaya chock full of scallops, shrimp, mussels, and sausage. All very tasty. We even had a dessert of Key West Lime Pie, which had a fantastic pecan graham crust!
